BIRMINGHAM – The UAB baseball team dropped a 7-2 decision in the second of a three game series on Friday night at UTSA.
The game was tied at 2-2 from the third inning until the bottom of the eighth, but UTSA then scored five runs in the eighth to even the series at 1-1.
Both Brandon Willoughby and Christian Hall tallied RBIs for the Blazers, but UTSA's five runs came on six hits in the eighth, including two home runs, to claim the victory.
The Blazers (31-22, 12-16 C-USA) and the Roadrunners (34-19, 18-11 C-USA) play the rubber game on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
