State Police Report - May 21, 2022

Jim Abbey, 26, of Laurel, Md., and Tanard Jackson, 36, of Jessup, Md., were taken into custody by state police for allegedly fraudulently obtaining two prescriptions at 5:12 p.m., April 19, in the 300 block of Walnut Street, Newport. They were placed in Perry County Prison in lieu of each posting $75,000 bail.

Esteban Gomez, 31, of Newport was cited by state police for criminal mischief. He allegedly smashed the windshield on a 2007 Chevrolet Impala belonging to a Millerstown woman at 3:25 p.m., April 23, on Joshua Boulevard, Wheatfield Twp. The windshield was valued at $600.

Four people have been charged for an alleged entry into a residence and assault.

According to state police, Gary Leaper, 36, and Amber McNaughton, 31, both of Shermans Dale, and Raymond Yohn, 39, and Stevie Anthony, 30, both of Landisburg, entered a residence on Valley Road in Carroll Twp. through a basement door window pane at 2:04 a.m., April 24. They then allegedly assaulted a 29-year-old Shermans Dale man in the residence.

The four accused people were placed in Perry County Prison in lieu of each posting $75,000 bail.

The damaged window pane was valued at $250.

The driver of a 2001 Dodge Neon lost control on a right curve in the 200 block of Cocolamus Creek Road in Greenwood Twp. at 4:31 p.m., April 25. The car rotated and struck a set of concrete porch steps.

The driver, who was using a seat belt and was not injured, was cited with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Eric Phillips, 41, of Marysville lost control of his 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee on a left curve of Valley Road in Carroll Twp. at 11 p.m., April 30, between Richwine and Valley Ranch roads. The vehicle struck a guardrail and overturned numerous times. Police said he left scene.

Phillips was using a seat belt and was not injured. Among the citations issued against him was accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property.

Shermans Dale Fire Company and EMS assisted at the scene. The vehicle was towed by H&J Towing.

Anthony McCray, 60, of Liverpool is accused of depositing trash in a Liverpool woman’s dumpster without permission at 7:16 a.m., May 3, in the 200 block of S. Market Street, according to state police.
