Making his return to action after a four-year hiatus, Hector Lombard took on Thiago Silva at Eagle FC 47. Following a skid in his professional career that saw him drop six in a row, the co-main event marked his first fight since September 2018. His opponent Silva had been on the sidelines since May 2019 and makes his comeback after two consecutive losses.

Round 1
Both fighters are cautious in the opening seconds as they look for an opening. Hector Lombard connects with a left hand to wobble Silva. Follows Silva to the ground as he continues to pound him in the very first minute of the contest. Silva survives, Lombard retains the top position and he strikes Silva with elbows. They move closer to the cage and change position with Lombard in the dominant position. Lombard looking for Silva’s right arm to get a submission as he holds his neck. Silva gets out and both are on their feet. Clinch, Lombard goes down in hopes of a takedown. He gets it by tripping Silva before the two are back up again. The two stay in the clinch with light exchanges.
The two return to the middle of the cage. Silva throws a head kick and misses. Low kick by Silva. More of a striking match now towards the end of the first round.
Round 2
Both go at it with multiple strikes. Hector Lombard being the aggressor. Silva moves around the cage. Lombard circles with him as he dodges a few different attempts. Lombard rushes in but doesn’t throw a hit. Silva connects with a huge right that sends Lombard down. Silva runs towards Lombard and hits him with an illegal knee. Lombard is bleeding heavily from his nose and face from the illegal strike.
Hector Lombard has refused to continue and the fight has been called off.
