Mayweather vs. Moore results: Live updates of the undercard and main event

MMA Fighting has Mayweather vs. Moore results live for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Don Moore fight card at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Saturday afternoon.

The event also features MMA legend and former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva in an exhibition boxing bout in the co-main event. This is Silva’s third boxing appearance since parting ways with the UFC. He defeated former WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by split decision and then followed that with a first-round knockout of fellow MMA great Tito Ortiz.

The show is underway as we get set for our first fight, a cruiserweight bout between Badou Jack and Hany Atiyo.

Badou Jack vs. Hany Atiyo

Round 1: Jack advancing with his jab. Atiyo wants to counter, but Jack goes to the body as he’s walking him down. Left hook drops Atiyo flat on the mat. He looks badly hurt and that’s it! Fight lasted about 30 seconds.

Delfine Persoon vs. Elhem Mekhaled

Round 1: Persoon right in Mekhaled’s face as Mekhaled looks to jab. Mekhaled works out of the corner. Persoon throwing a bit wild, a left hook connects for her. Persoon advances with big punches. She’s landing and making Mekhaled miss. Persoon just marching forward.

Round 2: Persoon throwing combinations, but Mekhaled countering well with her jab. Mekhaled with a pair of solid right hands. Persoon catches Mekhaled with two straight punches. Persoon bullying Mekhaled, who is keeping her guard high and tight. Persoon with a good body shot. They’re brawling and Mekhaled lands some bombs, but they’re both taking damage. Persoon just walks Mekhaled over to the ropes and there’s another close exchange. Ref is letting the fighters work.

Round 3: Persoon walks into a couple of hard Mekhaled punches. Undeterred, she advances throwing haymakers. Mekhaled staying in the pocket with her and she scores with a hard left. Defense is definitely a secondary concern in this fight. Persoon with a left hook and she follows with a 1-2. Persoon with a big right. Mekhaled times Persoon and hits a counter left. Persoon is just relentless, punches in bunches. Mekhaled with some rope-a-dope as the round closes.

Round 4: Persoon rifling in straight punches. Mekhaled wants that big shot, but she’s being overwhelmed. She hits Persoon with a crisp body shot. Persoon goes to the body, Mekhaled answers with a right hook. Persoon really just throwing without discretion. Mekhaled’s mouthpiece fell out and she hesitated, Persoon capitalized with some big shots. Referee pauses the action. They resume and Mekhaled blasts Persoon with a right. Persoon in hot pursuit and her output hasn’t slowed at all. Persoon cracks her with a right. Flurry from Persoon to close the round.

Round 5: Persoon starts off with a jab, but soon they’re brawling again. Right hand from Persoon breaks through Mekhaled’s guard. Persoon rips the body. Mekhaled answers with two body shots of her own. Persoon backs Mekhaled up with a left. She looks like she’s getting Mekhaled’s timing. Persoon pouring it on with Mekhaled backed up against the ropes, but Mekhaled finding openings to score.

Round 6: Persoon tries to keep Mekhaled at the end of her jab, but Mekhaled presses forward and lands a coupel of head shots. Persoon with half a dozen unanswered punches, targeting thee head and body. Nice right by Mekhaled. Uppercut by Persoon, good head movement from Mekhaled to avoid the worst of Persoon’s flurries. Mekhaled cracks Persoon with a couple of counter punches. Persoon’s offense is non-stop though.

Round 7: Looping left hook lands for Persoon. Right hand for Persoon. Mekhaled scores with a left hook. Mekhaled eats some punches as she closes the distance. Hard right scores for Mekhaled. Persoon gets a straight right through the defense. Mekhaled not letting Persoon smother her. Mekhaled looks to go to the body. More brawling at the round close.

Round 8: Persoon using her reach to control the start of Round 8. Persoon mixing in body shots as they’re almost nose to nose. Persoon still pushing the pace. Delfine timing her shots, but Persoon is just outworking her. Good right for Mekhaled, then another. Persoon firing punches to the body. Right hand across the chin for Persoon. Persoon lighting Mekhaled up before the bell.

Round 9: Persoon swarming. Mekhaled having trouble finding a home for that power now. She sneaks in one to the body. Persoon fire a 1-2 down the middle. Mekhaled with a counter left. A big overhand left lands for Mekhaled. Persoon pressuring Mekhaled against the ropes.

Round 10: Mekhaled throwing big, now it’s Persoon content to counter. Big winging punches from both fighters. Persoon batters the body as Mekhaled backs up to the ropes. Just one punch after another from Persoon. Mekhaled lands a hard jab, Persoon felt that one. Persoon has Mekhaled against the ropes again and she’s working. Back in the center of the ring, Mekhaled lands a big right. They finish this one trading punches. Fun fight!
