Baseball

Concord 12, Reading 0: Levi Raymond pitched a seven-inning no-hitter, striking out seven batters for Concord. Isaac Waldron had three hits and knocked in three runs for the Yellow Jackets. 

Concord 10, Reading 0: Logan Lamb had two hits and Anthony Evans added two RBIs for Concord. Jordan Medellin and Mark File combined on a 1-hitter on the mound for Concord. 

East Jackson 16, Lansing Eastern 10: Caleb Weaver had four hits and knocked in six runs for East Jackson. 

East Jackson 4, Lansing Eastern 1: Caleb Weaver had one hit and two RBIs for East Jackson. Logan Stump earned the pitching win with four innings pitched and four strikeouts. 

Jackson 17, Battle Creek Central 4: Michael Foust had two hits and knocked in three runs for Jackson. Conner Bush earned the pitching win for the Vikings. 

Jackson 19, Battle Creek Center 18: Jackson scored one run in the seventh inning to pull out a wild game. Conner Bush finished with four hits and five RBIs for Jackson. Michael Kirby tallied three hits and three RBIs and Steven DeVaughn had three hits. For Jackson (11-19). 

Springport 7, Potterville 2: Springport scored four times in the fifth inning to break open a close game. Travis Riehle finished with two hits and two RBIs for Springport (12-11). 

Springport 3, Potterville 1: Drew Sandford pitched a three-hitter while striking out seven batters on the mound. The Spartans could only muster two hits, but took advantage of four Potterville errors for the win. 

Whitmore Lake 7, Vandercook Lake 1: Kyle Cavins and Colby Larock finished with hits for Vandercook. 

Softball

Grass Lake 15, Columbia Central 4:  Rylee Fitzpatrick, Emily Guthrie, Olivia Turner, and Katelyn Postuma all hit home runs for Grass Lake. Ava Lyke hit a home run for Columbia Central and knocked in two runs. 

Grass Lake 13, Columbia Central 4: Olivia Turner hit two home runs and knocked in four runs in the win. Kenadee Tompkins had three hits and knocked in four runs for CCHS. 

Springport 16, Potterville 6: Rylee Siefert and Kirsten Webb had two hits and two RBIs for Springport. 

Springport 8, Potterville 3: Abby Heisler had two hits and two RBIs for the Spartans (17-9). 

Boys track and field

MHSAA D-1 Track Regional at Saline: Jackson finished 11th scoring 24 points in the Division 1 track and field regional at Saline. Jackson finished third in the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:32.21 with a team of Nathaniel Hobbs, Jarrell Harrell, Micah Conner, and Ahmad Ameen. 

MHSAA D-2 Track Regional at Mason: Western finished sixth (41 points) and Northwest failed to score in the Division 2 regional at Mason. Western High School finished fourth with 80 points and Northwest was 15th with 4.5 points. Jacob Singleton of Western won the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:04. Lincoln Raczkowski of Western finished second in the 300-meter hurdles to qualify for the state meet with a time of 40.68 seconds. 

MHSAA Division 3 regional at Hillsdale: Grass Lake finished third (57 points), Napoleon was fourth (56.5), Hanover-Horton placed fifth (52), Columbia Central finished ninth (28), Lumen Christi was 14th (18.5), and Michigan Center placed 15th (15). Hillsdale won the regional with 107 points. Graham Gumper of Hanover-Horton won the 100-meter dash (11.41); Andrew Stockton of Grass Lake was the regional champion in the 200-meter dash (23.65); Austin Brown of Hanover-Horton finished second in the 800-meter run (2:01) to qualify for the state meet); Jacob Melling of Columbia Central won the 1,600-meter run (4:29), Rogan Melling of Hanover-Horton was second (4:31), and Matt Rankin of Grass Lake was third (4:34) with a qualifying run; Walker also won the 3,200-meter run (10:00); Holden Van Poppel of Napoleon won the 110-meter hurdles (15.34) and Jack Easterday of Grass Lake was second (15.78) to qualify for the state meet; Easterday flipped the script winning the 300-meter hurdles (40.99) and Van Poppel was second (42.46); Grass Lake finished second in the 800-meter relay (1:33.56) with a team of Robert Anderson, Gus Vitale, Jack Easterday, and Stockton; Easterday of Grass Lake was second in the high jump (6-0) to qualify for the state in that event, and Gumper of Hanover-Horton finished second in the long jump (20-9) and DeVonta Habern of Napoleon had a state-qualifying jump (20-5.25) for third place.  

Girls track and field

MHSAA D-1 Track Regional at Saline: Jackson finished 11th in the Division 1 track and field regional with 10 points. Keiyera Johnson finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.80 seconds. 

MHSAA D-2 Track Regional at Mason: Alyna Lewis won the 800-meter run for Western in 2:24. Western finished third in the 400-meter relay (51.78), but qualified for the state meet based on time with Jocie Berry, Emma Berdiner, Lewis, and Lilli Luma. The same team won the 800-meter relay for Western in 1:47.58 and the Panthers won the 1,600-meter relay in 4:08 with a team of Anna Burk, Lillian Heydenburg, Luma, and Lewis. Western finished second in the 3,200-meter relay with a team of Kaelyn Pluta, Justice Prins, Cami Boldt, and Heydenburg in 10:28. Aspen Tarpley of Northwest was seventh in the pole vault (7-3). The Panthers finished 4th in team standings.

MHSAA Division 3 regional at Hillsdale: Lumen Christi finished fourth (58), Napoleon was right behind the Titans (53), Hanover-Horton was sixth (48), Grass Lake tied for eighth (37), Columbia Central finished 10th (29), and Michigan Center placed 15th (11). Onsted won the regional with 111 points. Lexus Bargesser of Grass Lake finished third in the 400-meter dash (1:00.36) with a state-qualifying time; Madison Osterberg of Lumen Christi won the 800-meter run (2:22) and Sophia Reynolds of Hanover-Horton was second (2:25); Osterberg won the 1,600-meter run (5:08) and teammate Faith Smith was second (5:14); Smith also won the 3,200-meter run (11:16); Grass Lake was second in the 400-meter relay (52.58) with Grace Bullock, Makenna Horodeczny, Kate Starkey, and Layne Terry and Napoleon had a state-qualifying time (53.00) with Alysa Budd, Alexa Burgess, Alexis Kermans, and Maggie VanWagnen; Grass Lake finished third in the 800-meter relay (1:51.67) but had a qualifying time with the same team; Hanover-Horton finished second in the 1,600-meter relay (4:17) with Olivianna Watkins, Morgan Kuhl, Chelsea Russ, and Sophia Reynolds and Lumen Christi finished with a state qualifying time (4:19.2) with Lily Beebe, Smith, Sydney Fazekas, and Osterberg; the Titans won the 3,200-meter relay (9:58) with the same team; Elly Trefry of Michigan Center won the pole vault (10-9); and Budd of Napoleon won the long jump (17-9.25). The top two finishers plus athletes who had state-qualifying times, heights, or distances qualify for the state meet.  

Girls soccer

Columbia Central 7, Dundee 0: Alyssa Stewart scored three goals and Bailey Surque earned the shutout in net for the Golden Eagles. Goals were also scored by Jaden Bates, Mia Taylor, Astrid Badenhoop, and Macie Mullins. 

Marshall 3, Lumen Christi 0: The Titans fell to Marshall in the Interstate-8 Conference tournament championship game. 

Boys golf

Grass Lake Invitational: Jackson won the event at Hills Heart of the Lakes Golf Course in Brooklyn. The Vikings finished with a four-man total of 323, led by Colin Norton with a 4-under-par 65. Hanover-Horton finished second (334), Napoleon was third (371), and Grass Lake finished fifth (413). Andrew Covalle finished with an 83 and Anthony Kulka shot an 87 for Jackson. Brady Applegate and Ryder Pickering both shot 76s for Hanover-Horton. Napoleon was led by Jacob Beer with an 83, and Jack Beck shot a 90 to lead Grass Lake.  

LCAA at Blissfield: Columbia Central finished eighth with 231 at Blissfield. Hayden Carter shot a 53 and Andrew Zacharias shot 56 to lead CCHS. 

Girls tennis

MHSAA Division 4 tennis regional at Lumen Christi: The Titans won the regional on Thursday with 22 points and Columbia Central was second scoring 16 points. Both teams advance to the D-4 state finals on June 3,4 in Ann Arbor. Maggie Page won the regional title at No. 1 singles as the Titans swept the singles’ titles; Olivia Eaker, Michaela Hauer, and Genevieve Brawner won singles’ titles at Nos. 2-4 for Lumen Christi. Lauren Craft/Alexa Thompson won the No. 1 doubles title for LCCHS; Lily Melnick/ Ella Melatich won the No. 2 doubles title for the Titans; Morgan Wilber/Kaley Thivierge of Columbia Central stopped the LCCHS sweep with the title at No. 3 doubles; and Kate Ganton/Maddison Arcaro of Lumen Christi won the regional title at No. 4 doubles for the Titans.
