AAUW focuses on Girls Inc. of the Tennessee Valley

The Oak Ridger
Kirby Deal

AAUW's last speaker for this fiscal year is the Girls Inc. of the Tennessee Valley Executive Director Kirby Deal.

The meeting will be via Zoom at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 23.

Deal is expected to speak about how her organization serves the needs of, and helps, girls between ages 5 to 14.

Kirby originally began her work with Girls Inc. in 2014 as the Middle School Program instructor for the Oak Ridge center, where she developed a passion for nonprofit work and strengthened her personal mission of empowering women and girls. Over the past five years, Kirby has worked to diversify fundraising and create new revenue streams through creating valuable community partnerships and relationships and helped grow the organization from a smaller local nonprofit serving two counties to a regional organization that serves over 1,300 girls annually in a variety of programs across Anderson, Knox and Blount counties.
