With Matt Ryan out of the picture, the Atlanta Falcons have officially entered a new era. The front office has reeled in numerous prospects in the hope of becoming a legitimate playoff contender once again. They have a long ways to go, which is why there will be a ton of opportunities throughout the organization. With that in mind, we go over one undrafted free agent who will make the Falcons' 2022 roster.

Atlanta signed 13 undrafted free agents, which is a ton of rookies entering a franchise. Considering the state the Falcons' roster is in right now, it's very plausible for at least one of these free agents to make the team. It should be an interesting season, but there are going to be a ton of new faces on the field this season.

Based on how this team is shaping up we could probably list two or more undrafted free agents who could make the final roster. However, only one stands out as the favorite to earn a prominent role with the organization. He might not be the most exciting choice, but the Falcons could use all of the help they can get on special teams.

With that said, here is our undrafted free agent who will make the Falcons' 2022 roster.

Falcons Undrafted Free Agent To Make 2022 Roster

Seth Vernon

The Falcons have a position battle brewing that could come down to the wire. Seth Vernon is an undrafted free-agent punter who has a real chance at becoming the starter. After Thomas Morstead signed with the Miami Dolphins, Atlanta was forced to search for a new punter. The front office acquire Dom Maggio as a free agent and then signed Vernon right after the NFL Draft.

It'll be interesting to see how Seth Vernon handles himself throughout training camp. He's a massive punter, as he is 6'5″ and 250 pounds, per ESPN. Coming out of Portland State, Vernon aims to become the new starting punter for the Falcons. If he impresses the coaching staff throughout the summer, then the job will surely be his.

Additionally, it's not like Vernon is facing off against a veteran, or well-known punter in the league. Maggio has just one year of NFL experience himself. This will be an open competition with the winner earning the starting role. Furthermore, the winner will likely also serve as the kick-off man for the Falcons as well.

Either way, Seth Vernon is in a favorable situation. He performed well throughout his collegiate career and is going up against another punter who is roughly the same talent level as he is. Depending on how he performs through the rest of the offseason, the Falcons could have an exciting rookie punter for the 2022 season.

This role is extremely important for the game of football. Especially for a team like the Falcons. Atlanta has a questionable offense right now and they might be punting the ball often throughout the season. This team needs the best man for the job, as a great punter sets up the defense for success. Keep an eye on Seth Vernon, as he will be in a heated position battle throughout the entire offseason.
