Boston Red Sox second baseman Trevor Story is suddenly red hot. After three home runs on Thursday, he hit a grand slam on Friday.

There’s nothing like a hot streak in baseball. As a hitter, it can make even the most vulnerable feel invincible. This is surely the case right now with Story, who struggled mightily in his first month-plus in a Boston uniform.

However, his last few games have been a work of art. Story hit three home runs on Thursday, and his grand slam on Friday was straight out of a Boston sports fan’s novel.

That ball was clobbered over the Green Monster. Nothing like a little home cookin to get Story going. And congratulations to the lucky fan in the Monster seats (which are incredibly expensive, for what it’s worth).

Wait, that fan looks a little familiar…

Is that Jonny Gomes?

Gomes proved he caught the ball by sending a text to MLB analyst and Red Sox fan Jared Carrabis.

That, my friends, is the baseball hit by Story.

Gomes spent some time with Boston, as he played with the Red Sox in 2013 and 2014. That 2013 team went on to win the World Series.

On Thursday, Story became just the third Red Sox second baseman to hit three home runs in a game, joining the likes of Dustin Pedroia. Now, in the same 24-hour span, Story has his fourth home run of the day.

So much for that Coors Field effect.
