Obituary for Gene Thomas Golden (1945-2022)

 Mr. Gene Thomas Golden age 76 of Cannon, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at his home. He was the son of Solomon Crit Golden and Mildred (Wagner) Golden born to them on October 20, 1945 in Pendleton County, Kentucky. Mr. Golden had been a mason worker and was a veteran of the United States Army and also served in the Army National Guard.

      He is preceded in death by his parents, Solomon Crit and Mildred Golden, one daughter, Melissa Beckett and two brothers, Jeffery Golden and Marvin Golden, Sr.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife Nicey Mae Golden of Cannon, two sons, Steven Dale Golden and wife Angela of Falmouth, Kentucky and Crit Thomas Golden, Sr.  both of Cannon, one daughter Lisa Patterson of Cannon, one brother, Rick Golden and wife Jeannetta of Brooksville, Kentucky and two sisters, Carol McCarty of Foster, Kentucky and Peggy Jo O’Brien of Brooksville, Kentucky, thirteen grandchildren, Jeffery Patterson, Derrick Patterson, Steven Dale Golden, James Golden, Anthony Golden, Brian Golden, Nina Young, Chad Young, Emily Beckett, Cheyenne Golden and Destiny Golden and two grandchildren who he  adopted and raised as his own children,  Crit Thomas Golden, Jr. and Lucy Danielle Golden. He also leaves behind twenty-one great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services for Mr. Gene Thomas Golden will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Josh Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. He will be laid to rest in the Tanyard Cemetery at Smokey. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

      Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
