KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Friday afternoon that left one person dead and put three people in the hospital.

Sheriff Marcos Lopez said he believes the shooting was a drive-by, but he doesn’t know why it happened at this point.

According to Lopez, the department took precautions to protect people nearby.

“Sometimes, we put the hospitals or the local schools on lockdown,” he said. “You never know — at the time, we didn’t have the information. If the suspect was on foot, shooting, we didn’t know if it was an active shooter. ”

Lopez said Jaqwan Dockery, 27, was killed in the shooting. The conditions of the three other victims were not released.

Deputies said they are investigating surveillance footage of the market to get an idea of what the suspects looked like.
