Tottenham 'explore the possibility of signing Ivan Perisic on a free transfer'... with the Croatian 'open to a reunion with Antonio Conte but his preferred destination is Juventus'

Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing Ivan Perisic when his Inter Milan contract expires this summer. 

The Serie A side want to keep the 33-year-old, but are struggling to reach an agreement as reports in Italy claim that he is asking for a three-year deal worth £100,000-a-week. 

Chelsea and Newcastle have previously been linked with a move for Perisic, who has 113 caps for Croatia and scored in the 2018 World Cup final. 

According to ESPN, Tottenham are the latest club to join the race for his signature and do not mind paying his wage demands but are unlikely to offer a three-year contract. 

The report adds that Perisic is open to a reunion with Antonio Conte, who guided Inter to the Serie A title last season. 

However, it is claimed that while nothing has been agreed with any club, the Croatian would prefer to stay in Italy and sign for Juventus. 

Perisic has been at Inter since 2015, but spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Bayern Munich where he won the Champions League. 

He was brought back into the fold at San Siro the following year by Conte and adapted well to playing as a left wing-back. 

The Italian boss would want Perisic to play the same role at Tottenham as he seeks to put together a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title. 

Spurs need just a point from their final game of the season away at Norwich on Sunday to qualify for next season's Champions League.
