Trump coughs up $110K to Letitia James during business probe battle

Former President Donald Trump has coughed up $110,000 to New York State Attorney General Letitia James as part of her ongoing probe into the Trump Organization.

The hefty payment, which was paid in full Thursday, originates from a $10,000-per-day fine that a judge imposed last month as part of holding Trump in contempt of court for failing to respond to a subpoena from James’ office.

The meter began running April 26 after Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron ruled that Trump had missed a March 31 deadline to respond to a subpoena from James.

The 45th president was also ordered to fulfill other conditions by Friday in order for the judge to lift the contempt order.

The AG’s office said he has yet to provide additional affidavits and other details related to his business dealings as part of that deal.

James is seeking testimony from Trump and his children Ivanka and Donald Jr. as part of her investigation.

James has been ordered to hold the money in an escrow account while Trump’s legal team appeals the judge’s original contempt finding.

A representative for Trump could not be reached for comment.
