Port St. Lucie police made an arrest in two strong-armed robberies at two day spas.

On May 9, a man went into the Natural Spa & Massage at 10513 SW Meeting Street and inquired about services. He left, only to return and go into the breakroom while employees were busy assisting cutomers.

The man removed between $700-$1,000 from an employee's purse.

Employees tried to stop him but he managed to escape.

On May 13, a man matching the same description went into the Peacock Day Spa at 270 NW St. Lucie West Boulevard. Once again he asked about services and left. He returned a while later and asked for a massage. While receiving one he asked to use the bathroom. Instead, he went into the breakroom and took a purse. A struggle ensued and the man took off, with the purse.

After days of investigating, police arrested Tamarcus Knighton, 19, in connection with both cases.

While being interviewed by police he confessed to both robberies.

Knighton was charged with two counts of strong-arm robbery along with two counts of illegal use of 2-way device.
