Twisted Metal is a live-action adaptation of the Sony video game franchise. The series is a "high-octane action comedy" based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland).

Campbell joins previously announced stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz and Thomas Haden Church. Campbell will play the character Raven.

Twisted Metal follows John Doe (Mackie), a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

With the help of trigger-happy car thief Quiet (Beatriz), John Doe will face "savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck," an official synopsis reads.

Church plays Agent Stone, a cold and unyielding post-apocalyptic highway patrolman who will stop at nothing to bring law and order back to the Divided States of America.

Michael Jonathan Smith serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer, with Mackie, Reese, Wernick, Will Arnett and Marc Forman to also serve as executive producers.

Campbell is known for playing Sidney Prescott in the Scream film series. Her TV roles include Julia Salinger on Party of Five and LeAnn Harvey on House of Cards.
