Another person from La Salle County has died as a result of COVID-19. The latest victim was a woman in her 80s. According to the La Salle County Health Department, from May 13 to May 20, the county added 332 more cases of the virus, bringing the total number to just shy of 30,000 since the start of the pandemic.
More than half the new cases have hit people in their 30s and younger, including 46 boys and girls younger than 13.
Since the last report on May 13, 74 people have recovered.
The Community Level in LaSalle County has moved to Medium, or Yellow. This means the CDC strongly recommends masking up in indoor public places if you're at high risk of infection, or if someone in your household is.
