Emmerdale aired violent scenes tonight (May 19), with Ethan Anderson's client Jordan Greenlow racially lashing out at him.

The drama began with Al Chapman agreeing to speak with the police after witnessing Jordan's intimidation of Billy Fletcher, who'd told the villager he was a gang member.

With his dad Charles Anderson concerned about the job at hand, Ethan resolved to back out of Jordan's case, much to the criminal's wife Courtney's dismay. Such was her shame over being linked to a racist, she stormed out of the office.

Courtney's abrupt exit merely stoked the fire raging inside Jordan, leaving the office but not without scaring Ethan first.

Later on, outside the subway, Ethan arranged a night out with boyfriend Marcus Dean, but just out of sight was Jordan, tailing his every move.

He confronted Ethan, but his racially-charged outburst proved too much for the lawyer, who called him out for what he is.

Jordan's response was to aggressively throw Ethan to the floor and begin beating him.

Elsewhere, still awaiting Ethan's arrival, Marcus mentioned to Billy that he hadn't turned up for their date.

Billy managed to track Ethan down at the subway, interrupting Jordan's moment of violence, but he refused to let either of them go unless Billy withdrew his statement over the first attack and Ethan lied about the second one.

The former agreed, stalling just long enough for the police to show up, who marched Jordan away in handcuffs, whilst Ethan was taken to hospital.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
