OGDEN — Police in Weber County say a woman drowned Friday in Ogden Canyon.

Dispatchers received a call around 4:30 a.m. Friday regarding a possible drowning. A bystander had found a woman who was unresponsive and tried to perform CPR until paramedics arrived, said Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Josh Gard.

The incident took place near the mouth of the canyon, near Ogden.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's office believes the woman's death was an unattended drowning. Gard said Friday morning the incident was still under investigation.
