CANARIES FLY

Norwich confirm exits of 12 players before end of season and final game against Tottenham

NORWICH CITY have confirmed 12 players are leaving the club this summer - less than 48 hours before their final game of the season.

The Canaries have suffered a miserable campaign and already know that they are relegated from the Premier League.

They host Tottenham on Sunday on the final day with nothing more to play for other than trying to overtake Watford to avoid finishing bottom.

And the club, managed by Dean Smith, have decided to announce their retained list prior to that clash.

Popular German midfielder Lukas Rupp, 31, will depart Carrow Road next month when his contract expires.

He helped Norwich to promotion last year from the Championship and has played 61 matches for the club.

Fellow out of contract stars Josip Drmic, Josh Giurgi, Aston Oxborough, Nelson Khumbeni, Reece McAlear, Solomon Alidor-Hamilton and Olatunde Okeowo will also leave.

Drmic has been at the club since 2019 and scored three goals in 24 matches.

Meanwhile McAlear, Oxborough, Khumbeni, Giurgi, Alidor-Hamilton and Okeowo were all regulars for the club’s youth sides.

Meanwhile, Norwich have also announced that a number of their loan players will be returning to their parent clubs after the Spurs match.
