The South Bend Cubs were once again able to take down the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers yesterday in a closely contested 10 inning game, 3-2.
The Rattlers took an early one-run lead in the 2nd inning, but the Cubs responded with a pair of runs in the 4th.
No more runs were scored, until the bottom of the 9th, when Cubs pitcher Hunter Bigge threw a wild pitch with two outs, and two strikes on Antonio Pinero, which brought home Tristan Peters to send the game to extra innings.
It didn’t take long for the Cubs to retake the lead, as they scored the winning run in the top of the 10th, and kept the Rattlers at bay in the bottom half.
The back-and-forth series continues tonight at Fox Cities Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. on what is being called Building Block Night.
