Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to drowning in Ogden Canyon on Friday.

Weber County Sheriff's deputies and search and rescue crews were at the scene near the Ogden River Hot Springs near the mouth of the canyon, where officials say a woman died earlier in the morning.

WCSO Lt. Josh Gard said the call came in at 4:46 a.m. that some people had found the woman unresponsive in the water and attempted CPR.

The sheriff's office did not release the victim's identity, and it's unknown if investigators believe she had drowned shortly before her body was found or if she had been dead in the water for longer. It also wasn't clear whether the victim and the people who found her knew each other, or if the woman had been at the hot springs by herself.

Officials said the death doesn't appear suspicious.

Deputies said the hot springs are located on private property, and it's illegal for the public to swim there.
