The Richland One School District has deployed the use of metal detectors across all middle and high schools as part of a pilot program to determine if they’ll use them permanently.
Richland School District One, and other districts like Richland Two and Kershaw County schools, who were already metal detectors for sporting events, say they’ve effectively kept guns off-campus.
All of the students were in the school by 9:15 Friday morning.
