Pursuit ends with arrest

SIDNEY — A pursuit early Friday morning ended with the arrest of a Hamilton County man.

According to a Sidney Police Department press release, Officer Joseph Kennedy observed a dark colored Honda northbound on Interstate 75 with dark tinted windows and a registration that was not legible. Kennedy went after the car and when he tried to stop the car the driver, Davon Kristopher Hill, 22, refused to stop. The Honda got off at the 92 milemarker and then got back on I-75 and headed southbound.

Another Sidney Police officer was able to get behind Kennedy as they pursued the car southbound on I-75. The Honda was able to dodge several sets of stop sticks.

When the Honda neared the Needmore Road exit near Dayton it struck a set of stop sticks that the Ohio State Highway Patrol had deployed. The Honda then exited on the Needmore Road exit. At the top of the exit ramp Hill exited the vehicle and went prone on the ground. The Honda was still in gear and rolled down an embankment. The passenger also exited the Honda and went prone on the ground too.

Hill had several outstanding warrants out of Hamilton County. Hill was transported to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office for incarceration. Suspected narcotics were also found in Hill’s possession.

He has been charged with failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer_elude or flee; possession of drugs_schedule I or II substance; and possessing criminal tools. Bond was set by Sidney Municipal Court at $10,091.
