Reports of gun at JCPS middle school prompts lockdown
STEPHON: NEW AT NOON, SEVERAL FIGHTS, AND A REPORT OF A POSSIBLE WEAPON PROMPTED A LOCKDOWN THIS MORNING AT KAMMERER MIDDLE SCHOOL. THAT LOCKDOWN HAS SINCE BEEN LIFTED. A JCPS SPOKESPERSON SAYS THE SITUATION STARTED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL Y.DA A STUDENT, AND ANOTHER TEEN WHO DOES NOT ATTEND KAMMERER BEGAN FIGHTING, AND OTHER FIGHTS THEN ERUPTED. >> SEVERAL FIGHTS, SO WE HAD ABOUT 6 TO 8 STUDENTS,9 1 >> AT SOME POINT DURGIN THIS, SOMEONE SAID THEY SAW A WEAPON. AT THIS POINT, NO WEAPON HAS BEEN FOUND. STEPHON: A POLICE K-9 WAS BROUGHT IN TO ADON EXTEIVNSE SEARCH OF THE BUILDING. THE TWO TEENS WHO OFFICIALS SAY STARTED THE INCIDENTRE A SPEAKING TO SECURITY

Reports of gun at JCPS middle school prompts lockdown
A Jefferson County Public Schools building went on lockdown Friday morning after reports that a student may have a gun on campus.JCPS spokesperson Carolyn Callahan said the report came out of Kammerer Middle School on Wesboro Road. She said the building and students have been searched, and no gun has been found.Everyone is safe, according to Callahan.Police and JCPS security members are on the scene. Just before 11 a.m., we were told the lockdown was lifted and classes resumed.
