TULSA, Okla. — A man is dead after getting hit by a car in an east Tulsa parking lot on Friday morning.

Tulsa police responded to the call at Christview Christian Church near 21st and Garnett and determined a driver had intentionally run a man over.

Police say Steven Juarez, and a woman female got into an altercation with a group of homeless people that were living in a van at the church. The verbal altercation turned physical, the woman got into Juarez's Mustang and hit one of the people in the parking lot.

Police say Juarez and the woman left but came back shortly after and drove through the grass toward the group of people. Everyone got out of the way except Orlando Laysbad, who was handicapped and in a wheelchair. He was trapped under the car and later died.

Police say people in the parking lot started to attack Juarez and held him there until officers arrived. The woman got away but police are still looking for her.

The Tulsa Police Department arrested Juarez and say they're looking to have him charged with First-Degree Murder.
