Grab some good eats while supporting MADD at a food truck festival 

The #TessStrong Food Truck Festival to support Mothers Against Drunk Driving will be from 2-6 p.m. at Carl Grey Park at 4600 Collegiate Drive in Panama City.

The event was set up by Tess Rowland of Panama City WMBB News 13 anchor, who was severely injured when she was hit head-on by a drunken driver while traveling to work last year. Tess has made it her mission to combat impaired and drunken driving since then.

The Historical Society of Bay County will present a program on the turpentine and naval stores industry in Florida at 7 p.m. at the Bay County library, 898. W. 11th Street in Panama City.

Barbara Clark, a Registered Professional Archaeologist who specializes in historic archaeology of the 19th and early 20th century will lead the presentation. it will include the beginnings of the industry in the Southeast through the convict leasing program during Reconstruction, and insights into what led to the end of the industry in Florida. The event is free and open to the public. the program is most appropriate for adults, but young people are welcome.
