Despite more than a decade of success in California, Mike Trout remains a Jersey boy at heart.
WIP reports Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons attended Wednesday’s Texas Rangers-Los Angeles Angels game and threw out the first pitch. That gave the linebacker, the NFL’s reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year, a chance to meet Trout, the Millville, N.J. native who just happens to be a three-time American League MVP.

To commemorate the encounter, Trout, a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, signed a bat for Parsons. The inscription read, “Micah, take it easy on the birds!”
That wasn’t the case last year, when the Cowboys trounced the Eagles in both of their NFC East matchups. First came a 41-21 loss at Dallas in Week 3 on Monday Night Football. The Cowboys followed that up with a 51-26 drubbing of the Eagles in the regular-season finale in Philadelphia.
The Cowboys won the division title last year with a record of 12-5, while the Eagles qualified for the playoffs as an NFC Wild Card with a record of 9-8. The Eagles lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 31-15, while the Cowboys fell to the San Francisco 49ers, 23-17.
This year, the Eagles are set to host the Cowboys in Week 6 on Sunday Night Football, then visit AT&T Stadium in Week 16 on Christmas Eve.
