Which players going relatively under the radar could bring exciting traits to the Carolina Panthers during the 2022 season?

Excitement is building for the upcoming campaign now that the main offseason formalities have come to a conclusion. Free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft proved to be an eventful period for the Carolina Panthers, who managed to address critical needs and leave plenty of spare cash left over for another bold move should they wish.

Obviously, it doesn’t take an astrophysicist to figure out just perilous the situation is for head coach Matt Rhule in 2022. He did get the seal of approval from team owner David Tepper before the draft, but recent speculation linking the Panthers with Sean Payton did nothing to dispel the notion he is fighting for his job next season.

There is a good chance some progress can be made. In order to accomplish this, it’s going to take a collective effort from players, coaches, the front office, and the fans, who all need to start pulling in the same direction.

Without further ado, we picked out five under-the-radar Panthers players that could excite in 2022.

Andre Roberts – Carolina Panthers WR/KR

After the Carolina Panthers did not come out of the draft with a kick returner, the front office moved swiftly to secure the services of Andre Roberts on a one-year deal. This is a player with All-Pro credentials that should thrive working with Chris Tabor, who has a reputation for maximizing production with the tools at his disposal.

Even though Roberts might not have reached the lofty heights as a wide receiver, his nous for returning kicks has been nothing short of exceptional. Something the Panthers sorely lacked with Alex Erickson in 2021.

This signing came with little fanfare. But that does not detract from just how important Roberts might end up becoming when it’s all said and done.
