OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) - All of the 2022 State track and field champions have been crowned for Classes A and B. As attentions turn toward Classes C and D on Thursday and Friday, Local4 is reflecting on which area athletes took home gold medals in the first two days.

McCook’s Adam Dugger won the gold medal in the Class B boys long jump on Thursday with a leap of 23′5.75″. It gave him a State title after finishing as a runner up in the triple jump to Aurora’s Carsen Staehr on a tiebreaker.

“It kind of gave me extra motivation to get out here and jump even farther than I have,” Dugger said. “It’s great, especially the atmosphere, man, the atmosphere gets me going. It feels great to represent the city (of McCook) and southwest Nebraska. It gets a lot of disrespect, so it’s good to represent.”
