It's a show you don't want to miss.
Friday is the start of The Oregon International Airshow.
Organizers say this year's show at the Hillsboro Airport is going to be historic.
It's the first airshow since 1947 featuring all women pilots.
KATU spoke to Maj. Kristin "Beo" Wolfe, who says inspiring youth is a rewarding part of the job.
"Absolutely. Our whole goal is to raise the canopy, take off the helmet, and they see someone who looks like them, or when we get out of the airplane they say, 'I didn't know I could do that job.' That's actually the response we get most of the time is that they didn't know that girls can fly planes, when they’ve been flying planes for years and years. It's inspiring and hopefully me, Rebel and Stalin can inspire one little girl out there or any kids to fill our shoes one day."
Wolfe is the commander of the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team.
The airshow runs Friday through Sunday, May 22.
