Thousands of rollbacks are featured on Walmart's website

In the company's first quarter earnings call on May 17, it was revealed that more than 10,000 rollbacks are in effect at stores across the country.

Seasonal products and general merchandise are seeing the most rollbacks at this time, according to president and CEO of Walmart US John Furner.

"I feel really good about the rollbacks and the right presentations," Furner said on the call.

"I've been in stores all over the country. The store is excited about the rollbacks and the customers are responding.

"The execution has been strong."

Air purifiers, air fryers, grills, outdoor toys, and gardening tools are among the current rollback items featured on the site.

Rollbacks on apparel began earlier in 2022 and will continue into the second quarter.

A number of other items, including kitchen appliances, sports equipment, decor, and more are also being marked down on the store's website.

As inflation continues to soar, Walmart's rollbacks provide some relief to families who may be struggling with the cost of living.

Walmart President and CEO Doug McMillon said on that call that "the rate of inflation in food pulled more dollars away from GM [general merchandise]."

He also noted that general merchandise inventory levels rose approximately 33 percent last quarter as a result of inflation.

More rollbacks look to help the company rebound after first quarter profits were less than what executives had been hoping for.

Executives remain optimistic that the company's profit will bounce back in the coming quarters.
