Sergei Producciones Líricas, Divaria Productions, and the City Council of Logroño are teaming up to present a unique new adaptation of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 on June 8, 2022.

The iconic work will be adapted for chamber orchestra and chorus by conductor and composer Pedro Halffter.

“Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, also known as ‘Chorale,’ is the last complete symphony by the German composer Ludwig van Beethoven,” Halffter said in an official press statement. “It is one of the most transcendental, important and popular works of music and art. His latest movement has a strikingly unusual choral ending for its time, which has become a symbol of freedom.”

The performance will feature Miguel Olana, Ángel Ódena, Ashley Bell, and Anna Tonna as the soloists and is set to take place at the Auditorio del Ayuntamiento de Logroño, Spain.
