San Francisco firefighter allegedly gives coworker concussion in brutal attack

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – The Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged a San Francisco firefighter with assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly attacking a coworker.

Robert Muhammad, 47, attacked another firefighter, Gabriel Shin, with a fire hose spanner wrench, on Feb. 1, according to reporting by KTVU. Muhammad attacked Shin at a residence in Oakland at E. 19th Street and 9th Avenue, the station reported, with Shin suffering a concussion and a broken arm.

Shin and Muhammad had worked together at the same station for over two decades before the attack took place, the station reported.

The circumstances that led to the assault have not yet been made public.

The Alameda County District Attorney's Office did not respond to KCBS Radio's request for comment at the time of publication.
