Prosecutors believe Dariel Perez-Grullon carried out multiple armed carjackings in Bergen County during March and April 2022 and suspect Luis Guzman-Encarnacion of conspiring to commit a carjacking with Perez-Grullon.

The two men were charged together for conspiring to commit a carjacking in May but never following through with the plan.

Perez-Grullon faces a slew of charges, including carjacking, aggravated assault and promoting organized street crime.

He could spend the rest of his life in prison if found guilty.

Prosecutors only charged Guzman-Encarnacion with conspiracy to commit carjacking.

If found guilty, he faces a maximum sentence of 30 year in prison.
