OWN is moving on from Delilah.
The legal drama, which premiered in March 2021, has quietly been cancelled by the cable network, our sister site Deadline reports.
Created and executive-produced by Greenleaf‘s Craig Wright, Delilah starred Maahra Hill (How to Get Away With Murder) as a dedicated lawyer who won cases despite juggling motherhood and other familial flareups in her life. In addition to her two children, the divorced mother raised her nephew, helped her disabled military veteran brother, and fought for the less fortunate against large institutions.
In what is now the Delilah series finale, the police were searching for the attorney’s trusted private investigator, Mace, after a woman named Frieda Nichols went missing.
As for Hill, she has moved on with a role in the pilot for the NBC drama The Irrational, which stars Law & Order vet Jesse L. Martin and is based on the nonfiction book Predictably Irrational, by author Dan Ariely.
The Irrational focuses on Martin’s character, Alec Baker, a behavioral psychologist with a unique insight into people’s comportments. Baker, in turn, uses his wherewithal to help solve high-stakes cases involving corporations, law enforcement and the like. Hill is slated to star as Marisa, a passionate and astute FBI agent, who works with Baker.
Are you sad to hear Delilah is no more? Or had you forgotten about it? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
While I’m bummed that we’re losing Joe on The Flash, I’m glad it’s because Jesse L. Martin has a new series of his own.
I’m so sad to see this show go. I kind of suspected after they picked up all rise. I’ve been waiting for the new season
I’ve been wondering about this show. Too bad.
Bad decision by OWN. It was a good show.
I’m bummed it was a good show
Guess this leaves a slot open at the network. Hopefully they pick up ‘Our Kind of People’ and pair it with ‘The Kings of Napa’ on Tuesday nights!
I’m surprised this article doesn’t say what the ratings were.
I thoroughly enjoyed Delilah and was anxiously waiting for the next season. The storyline and writing was exceptionally good. Sooo disappointed i is cancelled.
I loved the show!!! I cannot believe it was cancelled! I loved Delilah!
Yes I agree with you Valerie Smith on everything that you said and I was disappointed very
So sorry this show was cancelled…I really enjoyed it….Will another network pick up the show!!?? I hope so!!!
I agree with all the Disappointed Delilah fans. I Loved this show.
It seems networks should have some idea certain shows won’t be returning and not leave the fans hanging.
Yes I’m very sad that this show have been canceled. I was waiting and you took so long to communicate this to us.
Horrible decision. Great show
Not it not fair please don’t cancel Delilah. Thanks
I liked the show and was looking forward for season 2. Sad to hear it’s canceled for good.
This was a really good show! I was wondering if it was going to return! Very well scripted and I loved the role of Delilah!
I’ve been waiting and waiting for season 2. I loved this show. I have all of season 1 recorded so that I could watch it again to refresh my memory when season 2 started. Had a great storyline and great actors. I hope another channel picks it up.
I really enjoyed Deliha.. Loved the storyline and the fresh faces and the successful single mom with family issues as well was real life.. This show needs to come back!!
That was a great show. Meaningful, heartfelt.
I would like to see a season 2,
This was a very bad decision by the OWN Network because it was an up raising show. I enjoyed watching Delilah!!!!!
I agree with everyone here. Delilah was a great show. The acting and story line were really good. Don’t know what the ratings were but if they were low that could probably be fixed with more advertising. This show is a gem-someone in the biz should really look into what can be done to get this show back into rotation.
Had there been a choice between All Rise and Delilah – I would have chosen Delilah, hands down!! Delilah’s content was more interesting and easier to understand! Good stories. Seriously big mistake! Sad OWN. Even better, keep both – can’t have too many law stories… for instance law and order(x)!
I am most definitely sad to see Delilah is not going to return. I have been checking periodically. I thought it was a great start for the series and patiently waited for more. Reconsider!
I kind of thought it was going somewhere especially when the friends went in different directions. I would have loved to see what happened.
