FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WJLA) — A Virginia middle school teacher has been arrested and charged with two felonies related to the possession of child pornography, police said.

Kristine Knizner, 28, a teacher at Irving Middle School in Springfield, is accused of possessing child sexual abuse material on her Snapchat account.

In an investigation that began Tuesday, detectives determined that an individual with a Snapchat account associated with an IP address in Fairfax County was in possession of such material. Detectives said the IP address led to Knizner's apartment in Springfield.

She was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and taken to the Adult Detention Center and released on a $2,000 unsecured bond.

Prior to teaching at Irving Middle School, she was a teacher at Key Middle School in Franconia. The victims do not appear to be related to Knizner’s employment.
