Since debuting his new stable 'Judgement Day' in April, WWE's Edge has been busy recruiting members.
First, it was former United States champion Damian Priest, and then former Raw Women's Champion Rhea Ripley.
But now, Edge has teased what could be an extremely exciting addition to the group – Paige.
On Twitter on Monday (May 16), Edge teased fans by simply tweeting a picture of the former Diva's Champion. Paige responded by retweeting him, which we'll take as an endorsement of the idea.
The timing of Edge's tweet is interesting, as Paige previously confirmed that her WWE contract expires in June 2022.
Last month, Paige was recently moved to WWE's list of 'current' Superstars, despite it being close to 800 days since her last appearance on WWE television.
Paige was forced to retire from in-ring competition in January 2018 after suffering a neck injury, leading doctors to tell her she would never wrestle again.
After announcing her retirement from the ring, Paige went on to become General Manager of SmackDown, before managing tag team The Kabuki Warriors (Kari Sane and Asuka).
But Edge himself is an example of never say never in wrestling. He was forced to retire in 2011 after being diagnosed with cervical spinal stenosis. He made his return to WWE in January 2020 after being cleared to wrestle for the first time in nearly nine years.
In April 2021, Paige appeared on Renee Paquette's Oral Sessions podcast and confirmed she wants to wrestle again even though the thought does scare her.
Paige told Renee: "[My neck] feels good and, honestly, it actually scares me as well to maybe come back to wrestling because I really want to and I would come back tomorrow but I'm always gonna have in the back of my head, like what if something happens and I do get paralysed?
"So it does scare me. I know I'm not gonna be fully ready mentally to come back, but watch out world! Because when I am mentally ready to come back, everyone's in trouble!"
