Rockies television reporter Kelsey Wingert was greeted rudely by a batted ball this week. It was the second such encounter in her career.

The latest incident took place during Colorado's home game Monday vs. the Giants. San Francisco's Austin Slater ripped a foul ball against Rockies closer Daniel Bard in the ninth inning. The ball deflected off the head of Wingert, who was seated at field level in the first-base camera well reporting for AT&T Sportsnet.

The liner caused a deep cut on Wingert's forehead.

Rockies training staff tended to her injury in the dugout. She flashed a smile and a thumbs-up afterward. What a trouper!

Wingert later posted on social media to keep fans updated on her status. On Wednesday, she thanked those who helped to take care of her during a scary time. The Rockies, Wingert wrote, helped to get her to "the best hospital" immediately. She spent five hours at the hospital receiving internal and external stitches for her wound.

Despite the gnarly nature of the injury, Wingert reported that a CAT scan came up clear. She also said that she didn't suffer any internal bleeding or fractures. She has been recuperating at AT&T Sportsnet general manager David Woodman's house.

Back in 2018, Wingert was seriously injured at the ballpark when she was covering the Braves. She suffered a fractured eye socket after getting hit by a foul ball.

Here's hoping that Wingert is able to fully recover from her latest injury and return to the field soon.
