As we continue our look at area football teams throughout the spring we move to Ramona. Caney Valley has been one of the most successful teams in Washington County over the past two seasons. The Trojans are coming off a 6-4 season that left them just short of the playoffs in 2021.

Caney Valley is emphasizing getting back to the basics and working on the installation phase this spring. The Trojans have a veteran quarterback to lean on in Zak Wallis but also will need to find a new crop of playmakers after losing four talented seniors. Veteran head coach Stephen Mitchell talks about his goals for the team this spring.

The Trojans will head to a team camp session at Liberty High School in the first week of June. The team will also take part in the passing league hosted by Pawhuska on Tuesday night’s in June.
