There are few more fascinating relationships in the NBA than that of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets. The pair had a major falling out after they won a title with the Cleveland Cavaliers a few years back and it ended up with Kyrie leaving the Cavs for greener pastures.

It's no secret that their relationship took a hit after Irving decided to leave. As it turns out, LeBron tried to fix their issues not too long ago, although he had a bit of an ulterior motive as well. According to ESPN's NBA insider Brian Windhorst, James actually tried to recruit Kyrie to the Lakers in 2019. Irving chose to join the Nets and as it turns out, that decision left another dent in their relationship:

“A couple of years ago when Kyrie was headed to free agency, LeBron James was interested in trying to recruit him to the Los Angeles Lakers,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said. “And he reached and attempted to mend fences. It lasted for a short time. When Kyrie didn’t choose the Lakers, their relationship went away again.”

For what it's worth, Kyrie has been vocal about his relationship with the Lakers superstar of late. Irving hinted that it may not have been the best of decisions for him to leave the Cavs, and that he is adamant that they would have won more titles in Cleveland if he stayed.

Taking all this into consideration, is there actually a chance that LeBron and Kyrie reunite somewhere down the road? Perhaps with the Lakers? That would be very interesting, to say the least.
