Absentee Ballots Can Now Be Cast for Iowa June Primaries
Voters can now submit absentee ballots for the June Primary elections to their County Auditor’s Office.
The first day to cast an absentee ballot in the auditor’s office was Wednesday, May 18th, also the first day auditors’ offices could mail out an absentee ballot. Ballot request forms are available at the auditor’s office, online at www.sos.iowa.gov/elections, or by calling the Auditor’s Office.
Chickasaw County Elections Officer Laura Wickham reminds voters the last day to request a ballot to be mailed to you is this Monday, May 23th; and, the Auditor’s Office is open for absentee voting on Saturday, June 4th. The last day to vote in person in the Auditor’s Office is Monday, June 6th; and polls on election day, June 7th, will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Floyd County Auditor Gloria Carr adds that new voter registration cards are also being mailed out this week to all registered voters so voters know their supervisor district, new state senate and house districts, and polling places. The upcoming primary marks the first voting utilizing the new three supervisor districts format in Floyd County. The change comes after all three supervisors were elected at-large in the county since 1970.
