Jackson Co. Deputies in pursuit after man jumps out of car at traffic stop

UPDATE: (5:40 p.m. May 19) — A female passenger was arrested by Jackson County authorities for obstruction in connection to a pursuit.

Authorities say she allegedly provided a false name when asked to identify the driver.

She originally claimed the driver’s name was “Robert Bevard,” but authorities have since learned his name is Ryan Bevard. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies have called off the pursuit after positive identification of the suspect.

Bevard is not suspected of possessing a firearm or narcotics at this time and poses no immediate threat to the public.


JACKSON COUNTY, OHIO (WOWK) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is currently pursuing a man on foot after an attempted traffic stop.

The suspect jumped out of the vehicle in the area of Athens Street and Broadway Street and fled into the surrounding woods.

The Sheriff’s Office says the suspect’s name is Ryan J. Bevard, who is wanted on warrants for traffic violations and failure to appear.

Deputies are currently tracking Bevard through the woods with K-9 units.
