Ariana Madix recently opened up about an allergic reaction she had to a skincare product. On May 16, the Vanderpump Rules cast member took to Instagram to document the incident.

“This weekend, I learned the hard way that I’m allergic to something in vitamin C skin products. It wasn’t long after I used a new serum that I started itching. Here we go again with the allergic reactions right?” she wrote on a selfie. Ariana noted that her skin was “swelling” and that she had “irritation around [her] mouth.”

To help with the reaction, Ariana took an antihistamine. “Benadryl has been my best friend!” she explained. “I’m hoping [the allergic reaction] goes away without steroids this time.”

Although Ariana’s skin was swollen and irritated, it was nothing a professional makeup artist couldn’t fix. “Wait till you see the magic my amazing glam team did to make me feel beautiful for today’s event,” she wrote. 

In a subsequent snap, Ariana showed off her look for the outing. “[George Miguel Arnone] and [Julius Michael]: thank you for making me feel beautiful today,” she wrote.
