adidas and Yohji Yamamoto Bring Back the Y-3 Qasa High
Honoring the Three Stripes’ and Yamamoto’s ongoing 20-year collaboration.
adidas Y-3 is reintroducing the popular Qasa High model. The silhouette is one of the Three-Stripes’ most technically-designed silhouettes and the return marks the athletic brand’s ongoing 20-year partnership with iconic Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto. The Qasa was first introduced in 2013 and had a long and fruitful run — sneaker aficionados praise the silhouette for its innovative details and strikingly avant-garde profile.
After an absence in the market since around 2017, the Y-3 Qasa High returns in its familiar black and white colorway. The Y-3 Qasa High echoes much of Yamamoto’s brilliance for pushing design boundaries, not only in looks but also in construction and performance. One of the model’s most distinct features is its easily-recognizable EVA outsole — the robust detail takes cues from adidas’ 90s Tubular running technology. Other signature aspects include the Qasa’s neoprene sock-like uppers, front elasticated straps, leather toe cap and smooth heel lining. For comfort and cushioning, the shoe is constructed with a Poron® performance sockliner.
The Qasa High will be available for purchase on May 25 at adidas.com/y-3, on CONFIRMED, in stores, and through select retailers.
In other footwear news, retailer Sneaker Politics will be releasing their newest ASICS “Always Ready” GEL-LYTE III.
