The Boston Celtics may not have to make any drastic changes this summer. Despite having lost game one to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, they’re still very much in the mix for the NBA Championship.
If they fall short of that lofty ambition, who knows what General Manager Brad Stevens may do. He’d still be justified in staying the course. After all, this is still a young team. A Conference Finals trip qualifies as a successful year.
On the other hand, if the right upgrade came along, he may not be able to turn it down.
The Washington Wizards could be the team to offer that upgrade. Their 2021-22 season was not a success by any measure.
