FALL RIVER — Fall River police have arrested three people in connection to a daytime shooting in the city yesterday that damaged a Third Street home.

Kayvon Ashton, 36, of Brockton has been arrested and charged with two counts of attempting to commit assault by discharging a firearm, among other charges.

Meanwhile 37-year-old Stoughton resident Alison Dill and 34-year-old Fall River resident Stephanie Micklos have both been arrested and charged with misleading police and being an accessory after the fact.

Multiple gunshots were reported at around 10:18 a.m. Wednesday in the Corky Row neighborhood near Second and Wade streets, according to police.

Officers and major crimes division detectives canvassed the area, speaking with witnesses and viewing surveillance video.

They found that a confrontation had taken place between three men, before two started running away and the third started shooting at them.

Detectives believe the male suspect went into a 394 Second St. business called OhKay Soul, which police said had a “closed” sign on the door.

Out of several people standing outside, Micklos identified herself as the property renter and business owner.

Another woman present, Dill, identified herself as a friend of Micklos.

They and other witnesses were brought to the Fall River Police Station to speak with detectives, according to police.

Meanwhile police said Officer Jonathan Souza, who was watching the business, saw a man later identified as Ashton exiting OhKay Soul a short time later.

He was arrested on outstanding warrants.

Police said a search of OhKay Soul turned up clothing worn by the shooter during the incident along with a loaded Glock .40 caliber pistol and a 22 round extended magazine.

According to police, the evidence found during the investigation shows that Ashton is likely responsible for the shooting, and Dill and Micklos likely misled detectives.

Detectives continue to investigate the status of the firearm.

Police said no one was injured in the “indiscriminate”shooting, but noted that a number of people were put at risk.

Fall River police are asking the two would-be shooting victims to come forward and assist in the case.

Along with the two firearm assault charges, Ashton also faces multiple firearms charges including carrying a gun without a license (third offense) and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
