The Philadelphia Eagles have kept fans extremely entertained this offseason. They drafted rising stars like Nakobe Dean and Jordan Davis in the 2022 NFL Draft and traded for star wide receiver AJ Brown. Most recently, the Eagles acquired cornerback James Bradberry via free agency, poaching him after he was released by the Giants.

Now, Philly fans think that Howie Roseman has another trick up his sleeve. While there's absolutely no solid evidence of this, some fans think that Cincinnati Bengals DB Jessie Bates could be headed to Philadelphia.

Why in the world would they think this? The answer is pretty simple. Bates ‘liked' Pro Football Focus' tweet regarding the Eagles' new and improved offense.

Eagles reporter Thomas R. Petersen tweeted a screenshot of Bates' conspiracy-starting social media activity on Thursday morning.

Like I said, a simple ‘like' doesn't mean much. However, if Roseman could pull this off, the Eagles' defense would be nearly impossible to beat. Bates recorded 88 tackles, four pass deflections, and one interception for the Cincinnati Bengals in their championship-chasing season, and was a big playmaker in the playoffs.

There is a real chance that Bates does end up switching teams this offseason. He refuses to play for the Bengals under a franchise tag. Cincinnati placed the tag on Bates back in March, but he sounds pretty firm on his decision not to sign the one-year deal.

Eagles fans could easily be getting their hopes up for nothing. But, given the circumstances in Cincinnati, they could also be on to something.
