Things to do: Food trucks at the park, cigars, carnivals and superheroes

Enjoy the weather this weekend by getting out to the park for a special food truck event, celebrate local women professionals, enjoy a free carnival and more.

1. Food trucks in The Park

Food Trucks in The Park will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Maury County Park.

Take a bite out of the many culinary offerings provided by Columbia and Maury County's growing food truck community with a special event at Maury County Park.

Food Trucks in The Park will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and is free to attend.

The new event will take place every other month at the park, located at 1018 Maury County Park Drive.

This month's food truck event will feature offerings by Ooh La La Shaved Ice, Bull’s BBQ, Oak Hill Farm Coffee, Mother’s Subs and Muletown Pizza.

The food trucks will be located in the parking lot near the Bridle and Saddle Pavilion next to the Babe Ruth Baseball Field.

2. Puff and Promote Women's Cigar Event, whiskey tastings

Puff & Promote will celebrate local women professionals at Battleground South Cigar Lounge from 3-10 p.m. Saturday, featuring wine tasting, prize giveaways and networking opportunities.

Celebrate the community's local professional women this weekend at Battleground South Cigar Lounge, 1020 S. Garden St.

The local cigar lounge will host Puff and Promote: A Women's Cigar Event from 2-10 p.m. Saturday. The event will focus on local professional women and entrepreneurs, with opportunities to network and connect over quality cigars and drinks.

The event will feature wine tasting from 3-6 p.m., as well as food trucks and music from DJ TQUINN from 7-10 p.m. There will also be bottles of wine and other prizes that will be given away.

And don't worry guys, men are also allowed to attend.

Battleground South Cigar Lounge will host tastings and meet and greets with Daddy Rack Whiskeys from 3-6 p.m. Sunday.

Battleground South will also host a Meet and Greet with J. Arthur Rackham, owner and master distiller of Daddy Rack Whiskeys, hailing all the way from West London, England, which will include tastings, storytelling and more.

3. Crye-Leike Carnival and Open House

Crye Leike will present a free carnival and open house at its Nashville Highway location from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Visit Crye Leike's location at 1118 Nashville Highway for a free day of all-ages fun this Saturday.

The event, which starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, will feature a carnival and open house. There will be games, such as ring toss, corn hole and a treasure hunt, as well as a Columbia Fire & Rescue truck on site.

Guests may also enjoy free burgers, hot dogs and all the fixins.

4. My Hero & Me Dance

Mt. Pleasant Parks & Recreation will host a My Hero & Me Dance from 5-7 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Community Center.

Everyone has a hero in their lives, from parents to kids, significant others and close friends.

Or maybe you and your special someone wish to play a little dress up as your favorite superheroes of the big screen and in comic books.

Celebrate the hero in your life this weekend at the My Hero & Me Dance, hosted by Mt. Pleasant Parks & Recreation. The dance which will take place from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Pleasant Community Center, 501 Gray Lane.

There is no age restriction to attend, and attendance is free. Light refreshments will also be available.

For a little extra fun, attendees are also encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero.

5. Live entertainment

Cord Martin will perform at Vintage Winery, 616 N. Main St., starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Don McKinnon will perform at Big Shake's Hot Chicken, 822 S. Main St., starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

CJ Hughes & The 50 Beautiful Units will perform at Bad Idea Brewing, 307 W. 11th St. in the Columbia Arts Building, starting at 7 p.m. Friday.

Box of Rox will perform at Puckett's in downtown Columbia starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Cochise County will perform at The Mulehouse Lounge, 812 S. High St., starting at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Parkway South will perform at Vintage Winery starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Matthew Nicholls will perform at Big Shake's Hot Chicken starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Bird & The Bear will perform at Bad Idea Brewing starting at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Escape Band will perform at Ember's Tavern & Grille, 2513 Hospitality Drive, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Scotty Morton Band will  perform at The Boondox, 3543 Highway 431, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Stevierock will perform at The Rebel Bar and Grill, 307 Riverside Drive, starting at 4 p.m. Sunday.
