A 16-year-old from Joliet has been charged as an adult with the attempted murder of another teen outside a Plainfield elementary school this weekend.

Will County prosecutors have filed three gun charges against the 16 year-old in addition to the attempted murder charges. Joliet police said while working with Plainfield police, they arrested the teen at Plainfield Central High School Monday morning- less than 12 hours after he allegedly shot a 17 year-old at Meadow View Elementary School.

Police have not shared a possible motive for the shooting that left the victim with a non life-threatening wound, but said they believe it was an isolated incident.

The bond has been set at $1 million.
