EAU CLAIRE Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The Eau Claire County Humane Association is launching a campaign that will help it better serve our furry friends. Its “Be the Voice” campaign is raising money to build a new shelter.
Its current facility is over 25 years old. ECCHA’s goal is to raise 6.5 million dollars. It has been raising money for the new shelter since January 2021, now it’s asking the community to help them create a better space to serve animals.
“We’re basically going to double our size. Our focus is better living quarters for the animals while they’re here. Animals come in. They’re here anywhere from 2 weeks to maybe months.”
In its quiet phase, the shelter raised 5.6 million dollars. That is about 900-thousand dollars short of its goal.
