Two Arrested After Crashing Stolen Vehicle In Union
On 5-19-2022, approximately 7:24 am, Franklin County Deputies, Union Missouri Police Department, Union Fire Protection District and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the area of Old Hwy 50 W and Argyle Estates in Union reference to a leaving the scene of an accident.
Upon arrival of law enforcement, it was learned the driver of the truck fled on foot, and once the vehicle was checked, it had been reported as stolen.
Franklin County K-9 Copper was called in and started a track where the suspect had entered into the woods. The track continued through a heavily wooded area and across Hwy 50.
Deputies were able to set up a perimeter in the area that the Sheriff’s K-9 was tracking, Law Enforcement located the two suspects, a 37 year old male from St. Clair and a 38 year old female from St. Clair in the area of Pecan Tree Lane.
Both of these subjects were taken into custody and charges of Stealing A Motor Vehicle, Tampering, and Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident will be applied for. K-9 Copper and his handler were just behind the subjects as they were located by the deputies.
